Jacksonville's Largest Pediatric Healthcare Provider Goes Live with Noteworthy Medical Systems Electronic Health Records (EHR)

CLEVELAND, OH — October 2, 2006 — Noteworthy Medical Systems, Inc., originator of the three-screen ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) management system, announced today it successfully implemented its NoteworthyEHR software at Pediatric Associates of Jacksonville, Fla., ("PAJ"), the largest provider of pediatric healthcare in Jacksonville.  The implementation of NoteworthyEHR enables PAJ clinicians and staff, serving more than 20,000 patients, to automate and connect patient visits across four locations.

"We see double the patient load a practice of our size would normally see — about 25,000 last year.  Add to that two new physicians, a weeks-old practice management system [MicroMD] and two practice administrators who arrived just six weeks ago.  We knew we needed a special company who would help us handle the challenges," said Aylin Ozdemir, M.D., president, Pediatric Associates of Jacksonville.  "Noteworthy has exceeded our expectations, both with their software and the wonderful people who helped us implement."

Prior to go live, the site's clinical needs and workflow were assessed by the Noteworthy Professional Services Team in order to streamline the practice's processes.  "We had the best of intentions to train prior to go live but it just didn't happen to the degree we intended," said Judy Spinks, one of two practice administrators at PAJ.  Although go live was the first time many had touched the system, all medical assistants and desk personnel were charting their portion of patient visits within the first four days, and two physicians were seeing 100% of their patients on Day Two.  "Noteworthy's team kept everything moving smoothly," said Spinks.

The NoteworthyEHR solution provides the practice with a cost-effective, customized system for maintaining, documenting and accessing patient information that supports and enhances the doctor-patient relationship while improving practice efficiencies, safety and profitability.  The practice currently interfaces with other information technology systems, including lab orders and results, charges and demographics.

"I admit I didn't understand the benefits of switching from paper charting," said Beena Jacobs, M.D., Pediatric Associates of Jacksonville.  "But then I realized that with NoteworthyEHR I had all my patient information in front of me regardless of my clinic location, and that was it.  I was hooked.  NoteworthyEHR makes it all so easy now!"

Since implementation, PAJ is already experiencing a 25 percent increase in revenues, not to mention smoother interoffice workflow and more quality time with patients.

"As they grow their practice, NoteworthyEHR firmly positions Pediatric Associates of Jacksonville to improve patient safety and achieve true interoperability among its clinics and processes in order to deliver more efficient, more effective pediatric healthcare — all the while reducing costs and improving their bottom line," said Lawrence Dolin, president and CEO of Noteworthy.  "Our commitment to our clients and ability to partner with them allowed this implementation to succeed.  In an industry where so many implementations fail, we're proud of our 100 percent success rate."
